Chickadee?

PWND

The black-capped chickadee is more gr1m and kvlt than all of those miserable Norwegian black metal bastards put together. It has built-in corpsepaint, the gnarliest talons attached to its limbs and it survives the most frost-bitten awful northern winters with nary a complaint.

I love your site. I too, love birds, beer and blastbeats. Great to see some other interesting individuals out there. I always the only birder at a metal show, and probably the only metalhead in my local birding club. I think vultures are probably the most metal birds. They actually eat rotting flesh!

    Take care,

You make a good case for vultures. I freely admit that I am a sucker for the corpsepaint because I like a bit of absurdity in my life and black metal has that by the blood-bucketful. I wonder if we could declare the vulture the most old-school death metal of birds? I bet those carrion-eating bastards love Autopsy.

Best internet accident ever! I was looking up birds with mohawks and happened onto your website. I’ll keep following!

OK, this comment made my weekend. Ha!! That *is* an unusual way to find this boozy, feathered circlepit. Good luck with your search!

Killer – I was just noticing the similarity between Abbath’s warpaint and my Boston Terrier’s facial markings. So I looked him up to show my gf, and there was your pic. Black-capped Chickadee, that’s funny stuff. And as to the vulture comments, I decided the Turkey Vulture was my favorite bird while in an Ornithology class many years ago…

Three things near and dear to my heart: birds, beer, and metal. Nice blog!!!
